November 26, 2011:
Tom Stelle and Patrick Cooney decided to fish way to the south. We ended up fishing much further away than we normally do and were rewarded for our extra efforts. We had a small marlin in the baits that did not bite. Patrick successfully released a blue marlin that was conservatively estimated to be well over 900lbs. It has been probably 10 years since I have seen...........

Subject: Many Thanks Hi Richard,
Many thanks for hosting Tom and I and taking us to the ends of the earth on our blue water hunt. It took me the rest of the day once we returned to digest exactly what happened yesterday. Fishing teaches us a great deal about life, patience, commitment, perseverance and most of all humility. We went out yesterday looking for tuna which had evaded us completely and were rewarded with a once in a lifetime experience, which was can only be described as humbling.
Because of the dedication of you and your crew, we were able to comfortably push the limits, going into less traveled waters, and successfully hooking up with a once in a lifetime fish. The fight which ensued - was the fight of my life, then and there I learned and developed a new found understanding and respect for Marlin, it's desire to persevere and survive was like nothing I've ever seen and being directly connected to that was exhilarating-needless to say I'm hooked and have to figure out how to do this more often.
The crew of the Gamefisher 2 went far beyond their duty in seeing that our trip was a success from the start, It was evident that the captain and crew loved fishing as much or even more than we did- we covered an expansive amount of ocean in four days, ultimately that dedication hooked us up with a trophy fish.
Fred will need to get the chord to upload the pictures from the camera, please send me the pictures you all took, even the bad ones I can photo shop and clean them up on my computer, once Fred uploads mine I'll send them to you.
Mellisa many thanks for tying up all of our loose ends, everything was great.
  Best regards and many thanks,
Patrick

Subject: Re: September 20th Fishing with Gamefisher II
Hello Melissa : I wanted to let you know how much my friend and I enjoyed the fishing trip on the Gamefisher II on 09/20/2011. Junior and the two Diego's ( my two amigo`s ) went all out to give us first class treatment. The fishing was slow the first half of the day but the crew stayed after it, trying new spots and different lures and the action got hot. We ended up with 8 sails and 1 marlin ( another marlin got off after a nice fight ) . Thank the guys for me and don't hesitate to use me for a reference.

Richard and Melissa,
All we have talked about since getting home is the hardest working crew in the Pacific! You and your guys put us on the fish and really showed us a great time. I especially enjoyed when Junior handed me a light rod and said, " no bait, no fish". What an experience, having a crew let us catch our own bait, instructing us the whole way. The girls appreciated the way the guys made them feel at ease and safe.
With any luck we will be back next summer to enjoy it all over again.
Please thank Junior, Diego, and Scooby for us one more time.
  Cheers from Las Vegas!

Captain Richard,
I hope you are well, my friend. Just a quick note of thanks for our recent GREAT trip with my good friends Mark Tupper, Cely, and Pat and Jeff Lynch. We had a blast, in spite of the wind (a 500 pound marlin tends to make you disregard such minor inconveniences - Haha!).
If possible, Pat, Jeff, and I would like to purchase Gamefisher II T-shirts from you. We each would like one long sleeve and one short sleeve shirt (six shirts total): Pat needs Large, Jeff 2XL, and XL for me. Let me know how much I owe you and where to sent the check.
Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you again soon (possibly in December).
  Tu amigo, Ron Cervenka

Richard and Melissa,
I wanted to thank you for a great fishing experience last week and pass along several sweet shots that I think you will enjoy. (Click picture to enlarge)

Click to take advantage of special prices on canceled dates.I’ve now fished on the Gamefisher II a total of seven days in the past three years and by my count we’ve caught 21 sails, four blues, a striper and a black. Last Wednesday was the only day without a fish and that was quickly wiped away by our luck in catching over a thousand pounds of marlin in one day on Friday. Richard, Junior, Diego, Diego and Carlos, you guys run a tight ship and a truly class act. For those of us who only have the time to fish a few days a year and have to pay handsomely for it, you guys make all the difference.
Cheers,
Nehl

A great fishing story and some kind words about Gamefisher II

A couple of South Alabama fisherman wrote a very interesting blog entry about their Sept. 2010 trip to Costa Rica and fishing with us. The entry begins with, "Earlier this month, two Orange Beach fishing buddies and I had an opportunity to travel to Playas Del Coco, CR to fish, explore, and relax. We’ve kicked around the idea of an out of area fishing trip before, and with the oil-related closures this summer, we finally pulled the trigger." and ends with, "I can’t say enough good things about the Gamefisher II boat and crew. They are top-notch, highly skilled professional fishermen, awesome to watch in action, yet still easy to be around and actively fish with (instead of us just watching them do all the fishing). They patiently answered all of my many questions as I tried to learn as much as I could for future reference in our home Gulf waters. I honestly believe a lesser boat would have saved fuel and fished us in poor water all day and chalked up the likely poor results to bad water and luck of the draw. That marlin made our whole trip, and the Gamefisher II’s over-and-above approach made that possible. I look forward to hopefully fishing with them again one day." Junior, Diego, Captain Richard,
I wanted to say thank you again for a memorable trip on September 5 (2010), and to share some pictures of the marlin we released.
I’ve told everyone here who will listen about what a great trip we had and what a first class boat and crew we fished with… and how in less than ideal conditions you guys went above and beyond to find clean water and put us on fish. I fully believe a lesser operation would have let us fish all day, unsuccessfully no doubt, in the poor water closer to shore and chalked it up to “luck of the draw”. You guys are great fisherman, very professional yet easy and fun to fish with.
Thanks again for a trip I’ll never forget… and the highlight of our fabulous visit to Costa Rica. I hope we get a chance to fish with you guys again in the future.
 Sincerely,
Jamey Reynolds

I wanted to thank you again for all of your help on our trip. We had a great day on the water with Richard, Diego and Scooby and I look forward to getting back out there to get those Marlin. Everyone you recommended did a great job and all of the accommodations were great and had amazing views including the Volcano Inn. I also have to thank you for the amazing food on the boat. I have been on many boats and you by far provided the best food as well. That bean dip was the most amazing we have ever had. What kind of beans were those?
Thanks again,
Anthony

I can't begin to tell you how much fun we had for our two days with you. Junior and the crew were great along with the boat and food. The snorkeling was a blast, too. I have been out on guide trips were the fishing was awful but we had a blast, and a few times I have been out where the fishing was fantastic but had a horrible time, it is a rare treat to get both great fishing and a crew that goes above and beyond. Thanks again, and if I am ever down again we will be sure to hook up again.
PS: The bean dip was delicious, I have to try to give it a shot at making it for the first Penn State game, it was one of the best things I ate down there!!

"Subject:   Greetings from the Faulkners
Web site looks great - makes you want to go fishing... and a lot more. Appears you have expanded your activities and services.
Melissa - Our group still enjoys reminiscing about your hospitality - allowing us to use your home to clean up following our day of fishing. Arranging for our wives to meet us at the beach restaurant near your home and for us to have a fabulous meal at the hill top resort where your son was working. I believe your expanded offerings will be well received.
Many ask about our travels and and fishing in Costa Rica - I always tell them - there is only one boat to fish in CR - here is the website - make sure the Gamefisher II is available, then adjust your travel plans to fit."
We will be back, Blessings,
Von and Dorsi Faulkner

"Subject: Awesome Trip!!!
We had an absolutely awesome trip with Junior, Javier and Max. On the third day we set the boat's record for the most # of sails released on fly ever - 14 of 22 hooked. We raised probably 30 fish, plus caught a tuna. What a phenomenal day!!!
Junior's skills as Captain are superb - you are fortunate to have him work with you!....Our trip was a complete success and my friends and I are making plans to make this an annual event. .......It was a remarkable trip!"

"Dear Richard,
....I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you for your personal efforts, skill and expertise in providing Dan, Gwen, Charlene and myself perhaps the singularly most fantastic vacation we have ever had. I knew the first morning I met you that your attention to detail and your enthusiasm was certainly going to show us an exceptional time but I had no idea just how exceptional it would be....I know the four of us will return next August..... without a doubt the biggest fishing thrill I have ever experienced...
Robert J. Burnside, Clearwater, FL

"Dear Captain Chellemi and Junior,
.....I knew instinctively, when I first met you, that we were certainly going to catch fish -- and catch fish we did, 15 was my last count!!
Everything about our trip to Costa Rica was wonderful and exciting, but certainly the highlight for both of us, and the main reason we came, was to catch Sailfish! You guys made that possible, and we will be forever grateful..."

"Fly Fishing for Billfish",
Gamefisher2  was featured
and on the cover. We were
there for a reason.

"Dear Richard
Thanks again for an outstanding time! You and Junior make the trip and the fishing is a double bonus. I was told by every Captain in the tournament that you are the best in the business and that is really special coming from your professional peers. You have a reputation for being technical about your fishing and yet having fun. You should be extremely proud."
Alan Holcomb, Orlando, FL

"Dear Junior and Richard,
Thank you both for the excellent fishing trip. It was the most fun I've ever had in my whole life. Both of you made it fun for me and my Granddad.... Richard, thanks for letting me come up top and showing me all the equipment. The GPS is really cool. And thanks for calling my name and i'd turn around and you had a fish for me to reel in.... Thanks again for such a good time. I'm sure you guys hear it all the time, but you're the best."
Sincerely, Troy Guft

"Dear Richard,
What a trip!... We all learned a lot from you and really appreciated the time you took with us to teach us how to really hook the big ones! I'll never forget marlin...."
